Thank God! It appears Tom Hanks won't be sporting that dreadful 'do' from The Da Vinci Code in its follow-up Angels and Demons, going by these shots that appeared in USA Today ... today.
While it's a pity Hanks is reprising his role as symbol expert Robert Langdon to begin with - I would've preferred a Hugh Jackman or Clive Owen - at least the guy has had a haircut for his next adventure, which is actually more of a prequel.
The original Dan Brown book (which I didn't get around to reading even though I bought it), actually hit the stands before The Da Vinci Code (which I did read even though I didn't buy it).
Angels and Demons sees Langdon, and another cutesy female offsider, try to get to the bottom of a conspiracy to destroy the Vatican.
While the first movie made about a gazillion dollars at the box office in 2006 it wasn't that well received by critics and the general public alike. It kinda felt like the making of the film was rushed, while sitting through it tended to kinda drag on - if you know what I mean.
Still, producers have persisted with the same team, including director Ronny Howard, for the new film to hit cinemas next May.
Giving Hanks a better haircut is just a small part of the plan to improve the overall quality of the production.
The other is getting him into some budgie smugglers...
"I'm telling you, he's got a scene where he's swimming in Speedos, and he looks fantastic," producer Brian Grazer told USA Today. "He's going to add 10 years to his career with that scene alone, just watch."
Eeeew, do we have to?
The film also stars Ewan McGregor, who plays priest Carlo Ventrasca, and Ayleet Zurer, as said female sidekick Vittoria Vetra.
