Spider-Man vs Daddy Day Care

MOVIE NEWS
No, it's not the title of the latest web-slinger movie, in which the super-hero takes on a new villain played by Eddie Murphy. That would be bad. Meet Dave bad.
This is referring to the contract negotiations between Sony Pictures and actor Tobey Maguire.
The man who played Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man in the first three blockbuster films, has signed on to play him again, and again, in not one, but two more movies.
Shooting for both films, with director Sam Raimi also back at the helm, will be done back-to-back over a six-month period.
But, according to Times Online, in order for the studio to do that, and keep their star, a clause allowing Maguire time off to spend with his daughter was placed in his contract - which is worth $50mill I might add.
Maguire, 34, is the father of two-year-old Ruby, and he apparently wants early mornings and evenings off from being in front of the camera so he can be with her.
Bless his heart, do I hear all the mothers around the world say? Well, at least, that's what Sony chairwoman Amy Pascal was saying anyway - and that's what's important.
TimesOnline reported that she in fact allowed the clause despite a belief among Sony executives (much lesser ones than Ms Pascal, of course) that it would start a precedent.
Good for her, I say.
And good on Tobey too.
You never know Peter Parker might just be in a similar situation in one of the upcoming movies.
'Do I fight crime or stay in and change nappies'. Hmmmm, what to do, what to do?
