The Devil Wears Prada

July 24th 2007 08:35
It's an encouraging movie! one of my friends told me. As soon as I heard this comment, I decided to see it without hesitation. Deal
Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway: two big names crashed and created sparks. I love Meryl's movies, always. She is sensitive, genious, self-obsessed. When she is acting, in my eyes, she is living the role's life. Miranda (Meryl Streep), the supreme editor who believes she is in charge of everything, has her own tragedy. When I saw her glistening hair uncombed, her watery swollen eyes reflecting a flash of tired sadness, I read her mind: it's her life.

Brilliant, yes; Lonely, true.

Andy (Anne Hathaway): I see myself in her. Struggling, Striving for success, despite of any cost. I admired her at first, her attitude, those splendid super brands of clothes on her, her images crossing the street with cars moving forth and back, her clothes changing one after another. Isn't it girls' dream? Isn't it a devil every young soul facing with?
Temptation, The Devil

As Andy came across Miranda in the latter's down mood, I am sure she has caught something in her mind: that is not the life she seeks.
Sympathetic, yes; Scared, true.

I love encouraging movies, I always do. I am on my way to seek my life. (like everyone else do)

Yes, I was actually impressed that the movie has a very good meaningful message to the viewers. So it's not just all light and entertainment.

By the way, did you know that the character Miranda and Nigel were based on real people too? I mentioned this in one of my recent posts, which you can check out right here

It's a very cool movie, with a good message, but the book is even better.

Hi yaviz,
Thanks a lot for your comment and the link!!

Hi Chic Critique,
Thank you very much for your comment! I will read the book when I have time. Yeah, it seams that the book is often better than the movie. ^^
