It takes a game man to direct Monopoly: The Movie

MOVIE NEWS
I was shocked when I first heard they were making a Monopoly movie. I was in even more shock when I heard who they would be.
Or more to the point, who he would be. The director, according to The Hollywood Reporter will in fact be Ridley Scott.
The same Ridley Scott who has been a literal movie-making machine over the last 30 years.
The same Ridley Scott who has been a giant in the world of action/sci-fi flicks, bringing us Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator and American Gangster (which I just saw and loved I might add).
Then again, it's also the same Ridley Scott who was behind the awful romantic-comedy A Good Year from last year.
The Hollywood Reporter says Scott, who is also producing, is teaming up with screenwriter Pamela Pettifer of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride.
How the actual script will play out (I had to get a pun in there somewhere) appears to be a bit sketchy, but the website reckons Scott has officially been assigned to helm the project, "with an eye toward giving it a futuristic sheen along the lines of his iconic Blade Runner".
The mind Boggles doesn't it? Hey there's an idea for a movie.
One thing is for sure, with Scott behind the camera, Russell Crowe will be starring in it. Won't he? Maybe as Monopoly Man himself?
