Johnny Depp has gone Mad

Johnny Depp loves to dress up these days doesn't he ... And I'm not talking nice suits and ties.
Think the demon barber Sweeney Todd, the pirate captain Jack Sparrow, the chocolate maker Willy Wonka ...
Now, the 42-year-old is appearing in yet another collaboration with director Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow the list goes on), as the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland.
This photo has appeared on johnnydepp.com - and I just want to point out I wasn't actually on that website, but came across the pic on movieweb.com. A great source of infomation.
Anyway, the latest incarnation of Lewis Carroll's classic tale is due for release in March next year and will feature live-action and motion-capture performances.
It also stars Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Alan Rickman as Caterpillar, Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts and young Australian Mia Wasikowska as Alice.
Also good to see Matt Lucas from Little Britain fame in there as Tweedledee and Tweedledum
Alice in Wonderland has had so many screen adaptations, going right back to 1903, would you believe. In the title role was May Clark, who had appeared in that smash hit from 1900 How It Feels to Be Run Over.
The most famous telling of Alice's adventure down a rabbit hole though was the 1951 animated Disney film.

I don't think I've ever actually sat through an entire Alice in Wonderland movie. Not really my 'cup of tea'.
But I reckon I'll go and see this. Always interesting when Burton and Depp are involved.

Agreed, it does sound good. I've enjoyed Burton's work ever since Beetlejuice (apart from the Planet of the Apes remake).
Never been an Alice fan, but loved Labyrinth when I was a kid. They're apparently remaking that as well.
Not that I think they should, but it would've been interesting seeing what Burton and Depp did with that, with the latter in the Bowie role.
