Romulan, Romulan, Wherefore Art Thou Romulan?

GENERAL RAMBLINGS
The old Star Trek promotional express is starting to work up a good head of steam. After we got a look at the first proper trailer for JJ Abrams' upcoming mega picture last week, we now have two more posters for perusal.
One features our own Aussie Eric Bana looking meaner than a cut snake as Romulan villain Nero, and the other Zoe Saldana as Uhura, which either sounds like a great big Aussie rock or a great big Aussie farewell.
Anyway, both characters obviously play key roles in the Star Trek reworking, particularly Nero, whose action of going back in time is central to the entire plot of the film.
From the looks of things, there is something going on with Nero's ears too, which good old Eric Banadinovich certainly has experience in.
He cut off his quite sizeable listening devices for Chopper, his breakthrough hit, and then has spent the next few films trying to keep them covered up.
Seriously, the likable Bana has been busy of late with no less than six projects on the go, including The Time Traveller's Wife, which is kinda self-explanetary, with Rachel McAdams, and Funny People, the next Judd Apatow film starring Adam Sandler, Seth Rogan, Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill.
That's some funny guys, but Bana can certainly match it with them. We forget sometimes how funny this guy used to be, and probably still is, if given the proper chance on screen.
This was from the Eric Bana Show back in 1997:
For Zaldana, Star Trek will be the first of two big budget sci-fi flicks coming out next year, as she is also appearing in James Cameron's Avatar.
She was most recently seen in Vantage Point, with Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox, and earlier in her career, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Star Trek will be released next May, so still a few months left, and no doubt still a few teasers left in the Trekkie bandwagon.
I for one, though more Jedi than Star Fleet Academy-trained, am looking forward to it.
(I'm just trying to do that Vulcan peace sign, but just can't ever get it right).
