7 Most Memorable Chevy Chase Moments

ANOTHER LIST
Chevy Chase turned 65 this week. He may have lost his way in recent years, but the man has had so many funny moments in his career ...
7. Foul Play (1978)
As Tony Carlson
Shape of things to come for a fresh-faced Chevy playing the bumbling character, here, firstly, as a cop trying to protect Goldie Hawn. Dudley Moore co-starred.
"I'm sorry. You're right. That was a stupid, glib, chauvinist remark and I apologize. It is your ass they're after, and it's my job to see to it that... I get there first" - Carlson
6. Spies Like Us (1986)
As Emmit Fitzhume
Cornball comedy but a lot of fun with Chevy at his bumbling best, matched this time by Dan Aykroyd, both as spies set up by the CIA. They make a good combination, also seen briefly together in the terrible Caddyshack II.
Russian Interregator - "Every minute you don't tell us why you are here, I cut off a finger." Emmett Fitz-Hume - "Mine or yours?".
5. Memoirs of an Invisible Man (1992)
As Nick Halloway
Under-rated comedy from director John Carpenter about a guy who becomes invisible after a freak accident. A fresh and funny take on an old premise with the food in Chevy's stomach making a memorable appearance.
"You know something, Alice? ... If you were blind, we'd make the perfect couple" - Halloway.
4. Funny Farm (1988)
As Andy Farmer
Fish out of water comedy has the Clark Griswold-type character, writer Andy, moving to the country and causing havoc in a small town with his wife, played by a great Madolyn Smith.
"We came to Redbud filled with hopes and dreams of a better life. And basically, we've seen those hopes and dreams crushed and battered before our very eyes'' - Andy
3. Caddyshack (1980)
As Ty Webb
Ty is the charming golfer who plays mentor to a young caddy in this all-time classic sports movie. Not a big role for the Chevster, but has a big impact - in a very dry, sarcastic way - as does co-star Rodney Dangerfield.
"Just be the ball, be the ball, be the ball ... You're not being the ball Danny" - Ty
2. Fletch (1985)
As Irwin Fletcher
Investigative reporter, Fletch is a master of disguise and follows in the footsteps of Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop with just as much success.
"I'm afraid I'm gonna have to pull rank on you. I didn't want to have to do this. I'm with the Mattress Police. There are no tags on these mattresses" - Fletch
1. Vacation (1983)
As Clark Griswold
The Griswolds get up to some mischief on their way to Walley's World with dad Clark paving the way for Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin as lovable morons. Followed by the good European Vacation, the bad Christmas Vacation, and the ugly Vegas Vacation.
"We're all gonna have so much fucking fun we'll need plastic surgeory to remove our godamn smiles" - Clark

I always enjoy watching Spies Like Us. Stupid but fun.
As for Three Amigos, really liked it as well, and wanted to get it in the list there somewhere.
In the end, I just figured Chevy took a bit of a backseat with this one, while Steve Martin was the real lead.
Great movie though, cross between Tropic Thunder and The Magnificent Seven.
Hate Caddyshack II with a passion. Will have prime spot in list of Worst Unnecessary Sequels Ever!

Thanks for reading.
Trying to settle on lists of 7, so yeah, had to leave a few out ... namely Three Amigos, European Vacation and Oh Heavenly Dog.
Cheers
